COME TO MY HOUSE AND EAT CHILI!!!

So my wife abandoned me for the night to go the the FAA annual black tie ball with her Pop.

That's ok, but I am wondering if the neighborhood kids will be able to tell the difference between normal Shawn and His Wife Ditched Him for a Black Tie Ball Shawn.

One will probably be drinking and eating more candy than he should.

On another note:

COME TO MY HOUSE AND EAT CHILI!!!

Seriously! Cooking up a batch because that is the holiday tradition. We told a bunch of our neighbors but thankfully never really followed up. I expect some of them may wonder over after the bulk of the trick-or-treating is done.

COME TO MY HOUSE AND EAT CHILI!!!

I haven't decided if the pillar of flame is going up or not.

IF you are even NEAR Leesburg
THEN

Home from China...
Home from China, upgraded to leopard, still doing selections on pictures.

Had a great time, 2nd wedding anniversary in China was kinda cool.

Still a little discombobulated but mostly back on US/Eastern

Memories
Looking at these pictures had me useless for a while.

More of the happy/sad.

Please note that there are also enlightening clothing choices in
evidence towards the end.

Non-Pennsic SCA Pictures
Some of these pictures are sad in a happy sort of way. I have more,
but I am done uploading for the night.

Dinner
Red Wine, cottage cheese on a bed of spinach, tossed with dried cranberries and caramelized walnuts, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette lightly dusted with fresh ground pepper and medium grind sea salt.

I expect that I will have some key lime pie soon.

Also it is quite nice out, there may be a midnight run.

EDIT:
This started out as 2003 pictures, about 1000 made the
first cut and 600 or so the second (keep) cut. If the remainders
gallery is ignored (not represented here) ~300 made my normal
publishing cut. The wandering gallery contains pictures that
I may have otherwise not published except for the geo tagging value.

All of the galleries have geo tagged photos, the sat views are poor

Pre-Pennsic
If you are not sitting down, you probably should

For those who know...we have already started packing for Pennsic .
I know this seems unnatural, we almost promise to be up Friday/Thursday.

Having started packing more than say 36 hours before or even 14 hours after our planned
departure seems a bit strange.

Race For the Cure Today
Got up at 5:00 5:15, made coffee, took a shower.

Bowl of Cheerios and two cups of coffee out the door by 6:15ish

Parked at 7

Picked up my bib and T-Shirt and made it to the start about 5 minutes
after 8:00

Finished in 42:24 race time, so it would seem that we made fairly good time.
Had a banana and some fruit juice then hit the Yoplait truck.

Took some pictures but I don't have the sync cable for my phone.

Stopped  in  the Mary Livingston Ripley Garden which is beautiful; thought of Cait

Anybody want to try a marathon? (eventually)

Well, reading LJ again
I just mostly sort of caught up on a few weeks of LJ. So if I missed anything important, sorry about that.

I need a good RSS reader that can show me protected entries, the sage plugin for firefox worked relatively well for catchup purposes but I wouldn't use it on a regular basis. On that note, no RSS feed of your friends page.
(if you are interested, OPML export of friends list, import to sage, everyone shows up as a feed, if you have a valid LJ login cookie you can see the protected entries)

Google Reader rocks for regular RSS, but it isn't an answer for authenticated access.
Also on that note, I really, really like Google Reader.

Possibly in the nearish future a few posts about what has been going on.

Oh, also, Firefox 2.0 RC (current) rocks, built in inline spellcheck!

Out of Shape
Went for a ride today, the first in a few weeks or so and the longest this year...sad.

~42 miles at ~14.5mph, need to get a new battery for my computer.

I am not in shape for Hero of the Day a 250 mile ride  September 15-17 from Warrenton, NC to Washington, DC.

9 weeks to the start, 2 weeks of vacation in the middle and standard training to a Century is 9 weeks.
So a Century will be fine but the rest will probably be a bit more work.

Need to get more time in the saddle.

Seriously WTF
Why is it that the ISP for my community does not provide backup power...for their own equipment?

A power blip should not force me to set up my VPN connections again.

Jumping on the tracytracy bandwagon, I have also finised with the pictures I took.

Same link, all new and improved pictures.

I have what I assume is a bad line in my CCD, in the lower left corner of my pictures there is a small blob of bad pixeles that lead off to the edge of the frame. It should be cropped out of almost everything I posted. (Lame, and a camera that is ~5 years old)
